the Roots of "America"

Recently I heard of this show on the "inspiration network" called Fontaine:Fighting for America via its facebook page. Christians...again with the violence and fighting. Civilized societies debate...they do not fight.

The show could be a parody, I don't know for certain, but I did post an "apriori" review that simply argued against the show's tagline:

Hosted by television and talk radio veteran, Danny Fontana, Fontana: Fighting for America focuses on turning the nation back to its Christian roots. Through interviews and a variety of entertaining segments, Danny informs the viewers about political issues of the day that will affect their conservative values and calls them to action.

Here was my "review". Apparently you can post reviews even if you are not a "fan" of the show. I imagine after reading my "review" the facebook page monitor will remove it and the ability to post reviews.

Is this a parody? America, for a quick history lesson, was originally inhabited by non-christian native Americans who had never heard of Christ and included the continents of North and South America. It was attacked a few times and when part of it became organized as "The United States of America", it was deists like Thomas Jefferson and Ben Franklin who penned the majority of the constitution, which advocated some very anti-biblical principles: freedom of speech, equality, democracy, basic human rights, separation of church and state, etc. all of which are actively opposed by the Bible. The roots of "America" are not Christian at all. They are quite firmly grounded in Humanism, that is human centric ideology. Christianity really took over American politics in the late 19th early 20th century when "in god we trust" was added to the money, as well as "one nation under god" was added to the pledge of allegiance by religious zealots and politicians. The United States of America is in danger of slipping into a Dominionist Theocracy, which is exactly the same system of government the Taliban offer, except Christian instead of Muslim. Under a Christian Dominionist Theocracy, only Christians could vote, and non christians / gays / jews etc. would be routinely executed for crimes like blasphemy, apostacy, making satirical cartoons of Jesus etc. That is not the roots of "America". I write this review in vigilant defense of our precious democracy.

As a postscript, check out "Dominionism" on Wikipedia, as well as Christian Reconstructionism. Also check out TheocracyWatch.
